Jerusalem Community - Rule
of Live
At
the beginning, the Communities had nothing to lead themselves, except
the Gospel and the Tradition. They quickly felt the need to look
for something that matched the Communities and their own vocation. The
teachings of St Benedict, St Augustin, St Ignace or St Basile were
major sources of inspiration, but didn't match. Jerusalem - Rule of Life, written by the
founder, Br Pierre
Marie, has been since then the spiritual layout that leads the route of
the whole Communion of Jerusalem.
Moreover,
a bimonthly review, "Living Sources", makes it possible to better know
their spirituality.
|
Nourished with
Scripture and Tradition, Jerusalem - Rule of Life, now translated in 20
languages, maps out the route of the Monastic and Lay Communities of
Jerusalem. By that, it introduces itself as a book of reference for all
those who want to strive to live in the heart of the cities, in the
heart of God.
By bringing back to the source of the
early Christian communities of Jerusalem, these pages remind everyone
how and why love, pray, work, welcome and be silent. How and why be
chaste, poor, obedient, humble and joyful, in the heart of the world
and in Church, at the rythm of a city-dweller. A program of life that
is reminded by the only name of Jerusalem, city given to the men by God
and built by the men for God.
